Year 6 Consortium Six-Week Course for Girls

This six-week intensive course is designed to prepare girls for the Consortium exam. It will focus on the new question types which are typically not taught in school or covered by subject tutors: Creative Comprehension and Maths Puzzles.

Participants will be provided with example resources, methods, guidance and past question types.For creative Comprehension, they will look at source questions, information finding, critical reasoning and error checking. For Maths Puzzles, they will look at Geobra format questions online as as printed examples, and will use kinaesthetic methods (moving and cutting out material) to get used to the visual-spatial elements of the Maths Puzzles section.

The course will be led by Anna Marsland, a highly experienced entrance exam tutor with over seven years tuition experience. Anna has an excellent success record with entrance exam students, and currently convenes our weekly reasoning group. Anna’s course is designed to take students up to the point of assessment, and will provide familiarisastion and invaluable techniques to participants.

Sunday course dates: 8, 15, 22 and 29 September, 6 and 13 October 2024
Timing: 3pm-5pm
