This three-day intensive holiday workshop is designed to help consolidate reasoning skills. It will focus on core CAT, ISEB and Consortium rules to provide a solid foundation for entrance exam reasoning assessments.

  • Verbal Reasoning Vocabulary – ISEB and Consortium verbal reasoning question types, such as synonyms, antonyms, verbal similarities, verbal analogies and shuffled sentences.
  • Verbal Reasoning Quantitative – all core quantitative question types, such as alphabet codes, alphabet sequences, number-letter codes and number analogies.
  • Non-Verbal Reasoning 2D – students will be shown how to identity core similarities and differences, and to use this method to solve all 2D NVR types.
  • Non-Verbal Reasoning 3D – clear and simple methods will be outline to help students solve complicated cube nets, figure analysis (hole punching) and counting cubes question types.

As well as working hard, we will play hard! We will compete in the ‘reasoning Olympics’ –musing fun, breakout activities to help keep students engaged, and to earn points which they can use to buy prizes.
All students will be given written grades and feedback following the group, which will be led by Dr Tom Parkinson and Laurie Coldwell.
